BBW!

BBW. Some love the term, others hate it. You may know already, it stands for Big, Beautiful Women(Woman). Usage of the term is generally used in a positive light by men who prefer "plus sized", "voluptuous", "curvy", "zaftig", women. Not all "BBW's" like the term but it has become a mainstream term on the net and in personal ads and for social gathering events for those who are and like BBW's.

I did not invent the term, wikipedia claims to know it's origin, I'm not sure about that.. Regardless, I am one of those men who prefers the larger ladies. Many of us who have this preference have been categorized as out of the mainstream...but there are more and more people who have become aware and interested in the size acceptance movement. And many men secretly harbor fantasies of being with BBW's but they are "in the closet", secretly wishing their skinny girlfriend had some meat on her bones! How sad. Better to admit it and get on with finding some "big" love.

It is not a strange, mysterious "fetish". It is a preference, just as some of you may prefer brown or blue eyes, or red hair or blond hair....

I believe we all have physical attraction "preferences". Some like tall people. Some women like just Latino men. Some guys like petite blondes. Some women only like other women. Some women only date guys in great athletic shape. I really don't care what someone prefers...but I think we all have some preferences...and so liking BBW's is just a preference. I personally have found BBW's the most attractive type of woman since I was in my teens. I have also been attracted to non-BBW's. I just have a personal preference. I hate when people try to explain it in some sort of psychological analysis terms, "he must think big woman are easier...", "...he is overweight so he only goes for overweight women...", "...he thinks he can manipulate such women..". I've heard it all. Pure nonsense. I know what I like...I know myself and my real attraction to BBW's and how it is real, visceral and not psychological.

SO: If you unaware of the Size Acceptance Movement, check it out. Big people should not be discriminated against...just as tall or short people should not be....just as we should not stereotype by race, class, age or other "pigeonhole".

Thank you for listening and be sure to hit me back with some reactions if you disagree, agree or just have something to say. I wish you peace. And next time you see a person of size...try not to prejudge them as a person, open your mind up, this is a fellow human being...with fears and hopes and desires just like you...and they too can be proud of who they are. And there are many guys (and women..) out there who prefer ample love, and declare that: "too much of a good thing, is a great thing!"

  1. Thanks for your comment today.
I've never liked, from an early age, labels that we all put on things.
As to your post, I remember my 2 trips to germany vividly. Seeing women not dressed to the "ts" but looking very sexy despite it, made me realize, especially here in the usa, that we are manipulated by way too much.
As kids, especially before school, we all did talk and accept others, and didn't know anything else. Anyway..........

I'm sorry I don't get here much but have always appreciated your peeks.
I'm finding this to be like tv. It starts to take away from actually doing something constructive.
Have met a couple of bloggers and they are as they seem. Guess I've been lucky that way.
Trying to get back to being creative with paper and small bookbinding and will probably start showing some of those when I feel more comfortable.
But hey, good 4 U for life changes.
When I left SF and came out here to indy-anna, I've done more here than when I was home, go figure.

Cheers! and I detest instant coffee, but in a pinch, well, U know ; )

  3. Coffee Messiah,
I appreciate you stopping by and saying hello! Your blog is a true work of art. I would love to see the products of your bookbinding, that sounds great. I love books as well, I don't know that I would even know where to begin in learning that process of making them from hand. Very cool. I'd rather have instant than NO coffee. But it is inferior and I don't understand why it's so popular and why people can't take 5 minutes to make a real pot of coffee...or 2 minutes better yet, to grind their own beans!

Do you like living in Indy-anna? I have driven thru going to St. Louis from the east coast but don't know much about it. The one thing I do know is the folks (generally speaking..) in the midwest are much more down to earth and friendlier than people on the east coast. I had much better luck dating in the midwest and people were kinder.
I'll be sure to be back checking out your blog soon. Peace.

Anonymous, well I thank you for your generous words. Keep coming back (it works if you work it, so work it...you're worth it!)..Bill W. said that. Bill W. was da man.

  4. Dude, I wanna know if theres ever been a bbw who wasn't hard up, desparate, and low on self esteem. I wanna know if you found a bbw who thought good things about her self. They are hard to find.

  5. Dear Anonymous, I was a little puzzled when I first read your "thoughtful" remarks. At first I thought it was from a misogynistic man who dislikes big ladies...and overweight people in general. That sort of discrimination...extremely common in this world.

But then I thought about it, you may be right, there are self-loathing people of all kinds..self-loathing religions/races/ages. I don't think that is what you intended..but I'm sure there are many women and MEN in this world who have low self-esteem, thin or big, tall or short, black or white, etc. Many very thin people also have low self-esteem. It is not limited to just the plus sized. Anorexics can have self-esteem issues...

Also, there are many people, men and woman, who are "hard up" as you put it..some are in shape, some are thin, some are big...I don't think size is the issue. Other factors are in play...some may feel too short, too tall, not physically attractive, too shy, no social skills..that make them feel "hard up".

You seem to neglect the truth of the matter...and I can speak from empirical evidence and from women and men I know....many men LIKE bbw's!! And even many bi-women! It is a preference....as I stated in my post..if you would like to re-read it.

I know many bbw's who are not desperate or hard up at all, some of them are in demand by many men, white, black, hispanic and other... I have been to bbw events, I know many bbw's...some of them get LOTS of attention from men..and women! Many of them of quite beautiful.

I don't believe as you say, "have you found a bbw who thought good things about herself. They are hard to find". Of course, there are people who are overweight who don't feel good about it, for vanity or health reasons. BUT, there are also many people, men and women, who are quite confident and comfortable in their own skin, as they are now, big. That is what the size acceptance movement is all about! People can choose to be happy at any size and feel good about themselves..and they are not required to conform to "societal norms" of size and looks. If someone wants to spend a lot of energy working out and eating healthy they can usually lose weight, even though it is hard work. Others have genetic or gland issues and can't control it..

Many bbw's consider themselves beautiful, voluptous, zaftig and sexy. You are over-generalizing completely in your statements.

Your assumptions and statements show the obvious ignorance, misconception and stereotyping that is quite frankly inane and cliche. Find something else to criticize, I am not impressed at all with your reasoning and argument. It is lame. Go enjoy some ice cream...and when you are done with that go hug a bbw!

"Once you go fat, you never go back..."
